Muscat municipality is Ready for Ramadhan
• Intensive inspection campaigns to Facilities related to public health.
• Setting up the working hours in the slaughterhouses.

Muscat municipality has confirmed its readiness for the holy month of Ramadhan. It has therefor decided to make three inspection visits a day including periodic and sudden visits at day time and night.
Municipality slaughterhouses
The Directorate General of Health Affairs has taken its procedures to make sure that livestock are free from diseases. Livestock are examined by the veterinarians after their arrival and even before being slaughtered.
Working hours
In order to regulate the process of slaughtering in Muscat municipality slaughterhouses, the municipality has set up the appropriate working hours in the holy month of Ramadan. The slaughterhouses will be opened from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Saturday until Thursday, while work continues on Fridays for two hours from 9 to 11 a.m. In the evening from 2 to 4 p.m.
The central laboratory
The Muscat municipality laboratory is a front line defense for the health and food safety. It enables Muscat municipality to monitor the food samples and maintain the safety of the consumer; and therefore the health of the community. The municipality calls upon the community to send questions, queries, or observations by calling the toll free number (1111) or via its accounts in social networking sites.
