Muscat municipality conducts a training programme on "Basics of government accounting"

Muscat municipality, represented by the directorate general for human resources, organised a training programme entitled "fundamentals of government accounting to avoid errors in accordance with the approved financial procedures" with the participation of 20 employees from various financial positions in Muscat municipality. The programme was held in July 1-5 in Muscat municipality in Ruwi.
The programme aimed to provide an explanation on the financial regulations adopted by the municipality. It has also introduced the basics of financial management and accounting audit in accordance with standards that govern those systems according to the financial regulation of Diwan.
Furthermore, participants were introduced the five basic accounting skills, and has given an explanation about the basics of government accounting through basic themes: types of budgets and how to prepare them, concepts of procurement, tenders and contracts, revenues, besides clarifying the accounting processes and computer programs that pass through with reporting methods.
