Including seven programmes and many activities
The School Awareness Programme of Muscat Municipality is Launched

Under the theme "Madinati Masouliyyati", Muscat Municipality, represented by the Information and Awareness Administration, starts today (Thursday) The School Awareness Programme in collaboration with the Directorate General of education in Muscat governorate. The project aims to promote health and environmental awareness that could help minimise the negative phenomena in the region through providing a range of programmes and outreach activities to school students.
The project focuses on a range of programmes taking into account the interaction among students according to their age and to their school. The programme has relied on many techniques like; conducting a dialogue with students, lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and drawing and coloring workshops.
Parents have been also targeted in this prorgamme by setting up a special programme called "Awareness Majlis". Specialists of the Community Partnership at the municipality communicate with parents to introduce them with the most important practices and behaviors practiced by the students.
The project has also included a field prorgamme entitled "Clean Neighborhood" by conducting clean up campaigns in cooperation with some schools and service directorates of Muscat Municipality. Such programme aims at instilling a culture of environmental development and social responsibility. The prorgramme also motivates students to maintain public hygiene and public health.
