A Memorandum Of Understanding Between Muscat Municipality And PDO

With a view to strengthen the element of partnership and support of responsibility programmes with different sectors, Muscat Municipality, represented by the General Directorate of Human Resources, signed a memorandum of understanding with PDO, which includes an agreement for training of 353 employees of Muscat Municipality.

Considering the human element as the main engine of development, Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al Rahbi, Director General of the General Directorate of Human Resources in Muscat Municipality, emphasised the importance of this cooperation between the two sides.


This memorandum has been signed for three years during which PDO will deploy and manage knowledge by training of Omanis working in various fields such as health, agricultural, guard, field inspection and other professional functions.
The memorandum of understanding indicated that the training will include 353 employees and workers in the municipality and then increasing the number to 500 employees.

According to the agreement, the training plan will include all the specialties, jobs and professions needed by the municipality in the next phase of municipal work, including training of 128 Omani civil staff in civil, architectural engineering, quantity surveying in addition to the disciplines of accounting, coordination & follow-up, management and human resources beginning after the middle of October.

In terms of professional work, the agreement includes training of 225 workers who have the qualifications of the general diploma or below. They will be rehabilitated for administrative and field jobs, in addition to the guardianship, field monitoring, administration and computer use.
