For housing bachelors in residential neighborhoods Muscat Municipality raids houses for violating the use of types of rent contracts

Muscat Municipality has seized recently some houses that were used to house bachelors in residential neighborhoods in different areas. The thing which violates regulations and decisions organising the use of properties and type of lease contracts. The raid was intended to fight the phenomenon of housing foreign personnel "bachelors" in residential neighborhoods and commercial.


In collaboration with the Royal Oman Police, the urban  Inspection Department of the Directorate General of Muscat Municipality in al-Amirat raided an accommodation that was exploited to practice unauthorised commercial activity "laundry" an without taking health requirements. Another raid was also implemented in Al-Mawaleh North by the Muscat Municipality in As`Seeb. A house inhabited by a group of expats was used as a store without obtaining necessary municipal licenses.


Muscat Municipality implements such campaigns to ensure that regulations and health requirements are taken into account, which in return pours in the benefit if local community as a whole.
