A big crowd of cricket lovers were at the opening ceremony along with the 32 teams participating in this tournament . The tournament was inaugurated by  Br Ibrahim Abdallah Al Rahbi , Director General of Directorate of Human Resources of Muscat Munecpality by playing & hitting the ball , bowled by chief organizer of the event Syed Jameel Zaidi.

8 matches were played on first day as all the tournament will be played on Fridays only. The significant part of this tournament is the 10 teams of Muscat Municipality  various department & branches are participating along with 6 all Omani cricket clubs( total Omani teams 16 )  . Winner of the tournament will carry home a handsome amount of OMR .500/-  while runners will carry OMR.250/- with a trophy each . Following matches were played yesterday.


Match 1: Muscat Steel beat UCF Cricket team by 7 wickets, UCF scored 48 runs in 8 overs. Muscat Steel scored 49 runs for loss of 3 wickets . Sandeep was declared Man Of The Match .

Match 2. Smile Strikers beat Ruwi Smashers  by 15 runs. Smile Strikers scored 63 runs in alloted 8 overs . Ruwi smashers 48 runs. Daniyal of Smile Striker was man of the match by taking 2 wickets & scoring 23 runs.

Match 3.:  Raheel Club defeated AKCT team by 13 runs . Raheel club scored 81 runs  with Omer scoring 35 runs.while AKCT scored only 68 runs. Omer of raheel Club declared man of the match .

Match 4: Golden Line beat Royal Chalengers  by 7 wickets. Royal Chalengers scored 48 runs in 8 overs .Golden Line scored required runs for loss of 3 wickets . Patum of Golden Line was man of the match .

Match 5.: DGMM Greater Matrah  team was given Walkover as Al Nahda Cricket team failed to turn up for the match.

Match 6:  An interesting match was played between DG Central market  with MM Bausher team. Batting first DG central Market scored 51 runs Prashant scored 24 runs . Chasing MM .Bausher scored the runs in 5.3  overs with Mahesh of Dg MM Bausher scoring 24 runs was declared man of the match as he 3 took wickets also

Match 7:  DG  MM  Transport beat Al Hail Cricket Club  by 9 wickets. Batting first Al Hail scored only 34 runs in 8 overs ,Only Shoaib scored 13 & Waleed  9 runs. DG Transport scored the runs for loss of on wicket with Zahid scoring 27 runs with 4 sixes , Swami of DG Transport was man of the match by taking 3 wickets for 2 runs.


Match : MM Estate Adminstration  was given walkover & moved to 2nd round as Al Amerat Cricket Club  was failed to turn up for the match .
