Muscat Municipality Discusses The Mechanism Of Training Newly Appointed Staff As Part Of The Understanding Memorandum With PDO

Muscat Municipality holds today a meeting with officials to discuss the mechanism adopted in training newly appointed employees. The meeting will discuss the programmes that the 353 staff shall enroll in and the time duration that has been decided to be 9 months long.
The programme is intended to acquaint staff with necessary administrative and technical skills required in municipal work. It will also shed light on the possible ways to reduce loss of resources, plus the use and application of comprehensive quality standards such as the ISO and the Lean programme adopted by PDO. This will qualify the Municipality to enter the smart cities world and the 2040 vision with full of trust.
Director of Human Resources of Muscat Municipality Sultan al Shaei said that the programme is a translation of the effective partnership sought to be with the private sector and it meets PDO`s initiative to provide 50 job vacancies. PDO in its turn has assigned Oman Institute of technology to do the training work as it is a prominent center in technical and administrative training.
Al Shaei also added that about 353 training opportunities have been offered to Muscat Municipality, majority of which were dedicated to the employees of landscaping department after it has been privatized.
It is worth mentioning that the programme of training newly appointed staff will kick off tomorrow (Wednesday) at the headquarter of Oman Institute of technology. Such programmes would take down shorthand seven years of training to be only in nine months.
