Muscat Municipality intensifies its efforts to monitor business activities in light of COVID-19 pandemic, to ensure compliance with the health requirements stipulated in the regulations governing the practice of activities related to public health. A specialized team from the health affairs sector carries out an initiative to educate and train commercial centre workers on how to clean and sterilize shopping carts, and to emphasize the importance of providing disinfectants and sterilizers at all the centres` entrances and at the shopping carts collection point and in the toilets on an ongoing basis, with the need to direct the centres toward assembling shopping trolleys outside in the sun, if possible, and away from air conditioning. And introducing them to methods of sterilizing handles and doors with alcohol on an ongoing basis during the day, and sterilizing floors and walls.

Out of concern for the health and safety of community members, Muscat Municipality has been keen to follow up on the companies concerned with managing public facilities in the necessity to clean and sterilize these facilities, including seating seats and toilets, and to ensure that they are supplied with detergents and disinfectants, as well as sterilizers, handwashing soap and other detergents. These preventive measures and measures came within the framework of Muscat Municipality`s continuous keenness to monitor activities related to public health, and to implement a preventive plan accompanying its plan to activate a set of awareness and educational programs to spread the necessary awareness among individuals.
