Othman bin Ali Al-Hattali, Director of the Central Market said that this cooperation is a translation of the Muscat Municipality`s direction in supporting partnership with government and private entities and adopting initiatives aimed at improving the service sector and meeting the needs of beneficiaries of municipality services. Al-Hattali added "the launch of the Athamar + platform is the result of  exceptional circumstances that have drawn attention to technology; and  support smart solutions that are in line with the Oman’s Vision 2040".

Muscat Municipality has a logistical role in providing the umbrella for the beneficiaries of this programme, whether importers and companies, or wholesalers and farmers. The Athamar platform will organize work between importers and wholesalers to ensure a smooth flow of vegetables and fruits to all governorates of the Sultanate, and will save the time and effort of the final consumer.
