Muscat Municipality in Grand Mutrah carries out an inspection campaign to commercial activities related to public health, including bakeries and restaurants; to ensure that such activities adhere to necessary health requirements for preparing foodstuff. The Municipality as a result issued a fine against one activity and closed a bakery and a restaurant for failing to adhere to health requirements.
The regulation of public health activities emphasized adherence to some guidelines and requirements for both service providers and clients like; to disinfect all surfaces frequently, to ensure proper ventilation within the activity, to encourage and practice social distancing (minimum 2m) and to provide appropriate personal protective equipment to each worker/ employee.
Muscat Municipality reaffirms that it will take the necessary legal procedures in accordance with the laws, decisions or recommendations of the Supreme Committee dealing with Covid-19 pandemic.
