Limiting Parking Time at The Central Market of Vegetables and Fruits

Within the joint efforts to halt further spread of COVID-19 pandemic, and to organise the trading process in the central market for vegetables and fruits, Muscat Municipality issued decisions to organise parking of lorries and refrigerators at the central market of fruits and vegetables.
The decisions limit the parking time of refrigerated lorries and trailers owning agricultural and custom clearance certificates to three days only from the moment of its entry, plus the parking time of all types of vehicles loaded with local products, refrigerators and trailers designated to transferring, unloading and loading to 24 hours only, and their activity is confined to unloading and loading vegetables and fruits only.
The decision stipulates that owners of vehicles parked at the market shall be given one week from the date of this decision to move them, and that anyone who contravenes this decision shall incur an administrative fine of 100 Omani rials with requiring him to remove the causes of violation within 24 hours of time. In case of non-response, an administrative fine of 100 Omani rials is imposed for each additional day.
The Municipality may remove the violation and tow away vehicles and lorries to outside the market at the expense of the offender without bearing any responsibility for damages that may occur during transportation to the place of reservation, and throughout the reservation time.
