Municipal Guidelines in Men Barber Shops





As men personal care centres and barbershops were allowed to resume operation, Muscat Municipality clarifies that there are some health requirements required to follow when offering services in men barbershops. Of the requirements is to adhere to preventive measures & controls to halt furthering the spread of COVID-19. Of them are to disinfect the chairs using  (70 alcohol disinfectant) and to keep a distance between chairs (2 metres) and to wash hands & sanitize tools before the service and of course to wear a face shield (While working). Other important requirements:

  1. Plastic tools (Kept in a UV sterilization device)
  2. Clean and disinfect (facilities and tools)
  • Prohibited Services:
  1. Provide seating in waiting area or offering hospitality services
  2. Moroccan bath or equivalent.
  3. Keeping customers` personal items inside the facility
  4. All kind of home services
  5. Facial steaming or massaging
  6. All kinds of cosmetic practices that penetrate the skin
  7. Offering service for people under 12 and over 60 years of age.
  8. Holding wedding photography, parties or social events
  9. Facial hair threading, whether using the mouth or any other method which requires close contact
