Muscat Municipality continues its efforts in following up business activities related to public health especially in the current condition of Covid-19 pandemic; to ensure that businesses comply with the required health requirements and controls, to monitor any observations or abuses, and to take the necessary measures in cooperation with other directorates in all.

The health regulation on business activities related to public health clarifies in its provisions a number of articles that included health requirements related to these activities and other administrative violations resulting from their violation.
The new regulation contains (92) legal articles for health requirements distributed over (19) chapters that included various activities. Chapter I of the regulation deals with five articles related to the general health requirements of activities, including the need to provide an engineering scheme for the place of residence of any business activity before starting it, which should include details of the spaces and the approvals and licences of the concerned authorities, with details of the requirements for the design of the building itself.
In addition to a description of the safety requirements to be met, with a provision for the health requirements of workers/employees and their housing attached to the activities that require it, the first chapter also includes an indication that no facilities may be added to the shop until prior approval is obtained from the municipality.
Eventually, Muscat Municipality reaffirms its efforts to follow up business activities, making sure that all standards and requirements are met in any condition.
