Muscat Municipality Continues Replacing Traditional Street lights with LEDs
• Completion of phase 2 to replace the current street lights with ones LED in all Muscat.
With its pursuit to cut down financial expenditure and electric consumption, and to use environment-friendly alternatives, the lighting administration is currently in progress to replace old light bulbs with ones LED`s. The second phase of the project is to replace the current lighting with energy-saving lighting (LED), the project started in August this year with 17,000 street lights, and will be distributed in all Muscat.
So far, 1,222 street lights were put in operation distributed in al-Hail service street, Al Rawdah street from Al Mouj roundabout to Al Abab Street, Al Salam Street in Seeb, al Khalil street in Bousher, Qurm Beach Street, Ruwi Market Street in Mutrah, and Darseit. and 45% or the project is expected to complete by the end of this year.
