On the Tree Day: Muscat Municipality Spreads Awareness on Plants and Distributes Saplings
The Department of information and awareness of Muscat Municipality marked the annual anniversary of Tree Day which coincides on 31 October each year by implementing a series of awareness programmes.
Programmes were held at the Omani Women`s Association in al-Amirat and al-Qurm presented by Raja al-Amiriyah who is head of the awareness planning division in Muscat Municipality; to consolidate the objectives of the occasion, prominently to take care of green landscapes, planting trees and afforestation. Mrs. Hanan Al-Shuraiqiya, an agricultural engineer at the General Directorate of landscaping and parks, presented a working paper on the basics of creating a Home Garden and ways to take care of it. It’s worth noting that Muscat Municipality has also distributed saplings to the service directorates in all wilayahs of Muscat.
