Municipal School Awareness Kicks Off to address Common Negative Phenomena Plaguing Muscat Municipality
The Department of Community Partnership of Muscat Municipality launches the school awareness programme implemented in cooperation with the General Directorate of education and education.
The programme spreads awareness among school students on the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and keeping public properties safe. It also attempts to instil students with values and behaviours, as they would significantly help to reduce common negative phenomena plaguing Muscat Municipality.
Al-Shawamakh school for basic education (1-9) and Al-Shifa bint Ouf schools for basic education (4-10) in Al-Amarat were the first schools to have the programme in this year, focusing more on preserving public properties. Whereas school students in Seeb will be familiarized more on healthy meals and preserving public properties, starting from Sheikh Salim bin Hummoud al-Siyabi school for basic education (5-9) and Suhail bin Omar school for basic education (5-9) in Seeb.
The school project will continue to implement its awareness programs throughout the current semester according to a specific time plan, in which the awareness programme are varied to suit the student`s academic stage.
