Muscat Municipality Receives COMEX2022 Excellence Award for Two Pilot Projects

Muscat Municipality received the Excellence Award for its two pilot projects presented in the ICT exhibition (Comex2022). The two projects were the Remote Control of Lighting and Drone Delivery of Parcels. These two projects relied mainly on the emerging technologies and the Internet of things, which enabled Muscat Municipality to receive the award of excellence in technology.
The Remote Control of Lighting operates by the use of Internet of things in the field of smart lighting control that has enabled Muscat Municipality to save more energy when switching on and off lighting in Muscat.
The second project is the Drone Delivery of Packages in Muscat Governorate, which relies on drones to deliver postal packages, goods or food via the unmanned aerial vehicle "drone". The initiative was launched in cooperation with some local e-commerce companies and relevant courier service providers.
