Muscat Municipality Qualifies a Team to Control Snakes
The Health Affairs unit of Muscat Municipality carried out a training programme on snake control, targeting (20) employees in Public Health, aiming to form a specialized and qualified team that is capable of handling emergency situations related to snake reports.
The participants were acquainted with the types of snakes commonly found in the Sultanate, their locations, behaviour and how to differentiate between the poisonous from non-venomous ones. Trainees were also educated on following biological, agricultural and mechanical methods when controlling snake without disturbing the environmental balance.
