As part of the development projects implemented by Muscat Governorate, Muscat Municipality has put forward a tender for the implementation of the duplication of An`Nuzha Street in the southern Mubeila area in Seeb. The project is to construct a dual carriageway and high-capacity traffic intersections, with side protections, drainage systems and channels for surface water, in addition to entrances and exits that serve the street. The implementation will begin during the second quarter of next year 2023, and will continue for (24) months.
The project is to dualize An`Nuzha Street which will extend on (11) km, and to construct a ( 3.5 ) km serive streets and (6) large-capacity traffic intersections equipped with light signals. There will be also surface water drainage systems on the roadside, with the construction of a concrete channel to drain water with a length of (2.5) km. The drainage systems that will be implemented on the street path and its crossings aim to solve the problem of rainwater accumulating in the area by some multicellular box culverts. The street will be lit by energy-saving LED lighting system, traffic signs and road markings, in addition to tiling works along the street.
The project aims to raise the traffic flow in that vital area and avoiding traffic density at various times, and to enhance the development of commercial and residential areas, and to serve urban plans, facilities and neighborhoods adjacent to the street.
