Municipal Inspection and Awareness for Activities of Public Health
The inspection visits carried out by Muscat Municipality aim at ensuring the compliance of the owners of food and professional establishments and their workers with the sanitary and technical requirements, the extent of compliance with the approved laws, regulations and health systems, and to ensure the correct storage methods for food, in line with the active consumer movement of food goods throughout this holy month of Ramdhan.
The control procedures relate to finding out the validity of the permits issued to them, complying with all occupational safety conditions, and conducting an audit of food and water specifications to ensure that there are no types of commercial fraud with a view, not to mention the accompanying importance of following up on public hygiene and personal hygiene of service providers.
The joint team of inspectors and health technicians from Muscat Municipality is also keen during their field visits to provide training and guidance to restaurants and shops on food health and safety standards, to ensure food safety and cleanliness of the surrounding environment, and provide the necessary guidance and advice.
