Walkways For Healthy Living




On March 15th, Muscat Municipality joins Arab cities in celebrating the Arab city day. On this day, the Arab cities organization was founded in 1967, based in Kuwait City, and which came to deal with urban planning affairs and common city issues in a way to preserve the identity of the Arab city.
In the same framework, and in order to promote the objectives of the organization, Muscat Municipality has established development projects in various states of Muscat, according to thoughtful visions and systematic executive steps; to serve the city community and to ensure the promotion of the health level and its sustainability.

Golden Jubilee Walkway

The Golden Jubilee Walkway is one of the municipality projects carried out in Seeb, where phase one stretches on an area of (84,400) square meters, in the middle of a vital location that thrives with population and urban growth. The project came to create a modern breathing space for the community, and meet the needs of residents of the areas.
The project includes the construction of a walkway with a length of (1972) meters, and a width ranging from (5 to 6.5) meters. A bicycle path with a length of (1972) meters, a width of (3) meters, will be created located along the walkway. There will be also (3) rest areas; including sunshades, restrooms, cafés, will be implemented by local companies for investment.

Al-Bayda Neighbourhood Walkway in Busher

The implementation of the project "Al-Bayda neighbourhood walkway" in Jaal region in Busher has been completed. The project included the construction of a sport walkway with a length of (2200) meters and a width of (4) meters, which will be aligned with a bycycle path that is (2200) metres long, and a width of (2,5) meters, with side protections.

Nahdha City Walkway

Work continues on the project of establishing the Nahdha City Walkway in the fourth phase in al-Amirat. The project includes the construction of a walkway and a bicycle path with a length of (1200) meters, supported with a longitudinal path dedicated to bicycles, and the two paths are divided by greeneries, with the provision of spaces for mobile vendors, adjacent to a space allocated for asphalt parking, with the installation of lighting poles.
