Municipality Enures Preparedness of Slaughterhouses in Ramdhan
As part of the preparations for the Seeb and Amirat slaughterhouses, Muscat Municipality, represented by the Directorate General of Health Affairs, is supervising the slaughterhouse operating company to make sure of enough inspection staff, efficiency of the equipment and the availability of tools. A specialized technical and veterinary staff supervises all stages of slaughter, in addition to taking care of the maintenance of these devices and preparing them and making sure that they are able to accommodate numerous carcasses of all kinds.
Muscat Municipality has doubled the working hours in slaughterhouses three days before the holy month, so that the morning period is reserved for individuals only from 7 am to 1 pm, and the evening period is reserved for companies and meat shops so that it will be from 6:30 pm to midnight, from Monday during the period from (27 Sha`ban 1444) corresponding to (20 March 2023) until the end of the month of Sha`ban.
During the month of Ramadan, work is in the morning for 7 hours divided into two periods, the first is for companies from 6 to 8 am, and the second period is reserved for individuals from eight in the morning until one in the evening. To speed up the slaughtering operations, and to make it easy for the public, Muscat Municipality urges people to use Mawashi application.
Muscat Municipality renews its call to consumers on the importance of slaughtering in slaughterhouses; to ensure the health of meat and avoid infection with diseases transmitted from animals to humans. The municipality also warns of the importance of ensuring the health and safety of livestock when buying them.
