New Outlets for Commercial Signboard Licences
Muscat Municipality has recently stated that applications related to the issuance of commercial signboard licences received before April 4, 2023 will be completed as per the previous practice in Muscat Municipality, while the ones received by the Municipality on April 4, 2023 and beyond, will be returned, and the beneficiary will be directed to submit the application via the (Invest Easy) platform; as included in the aforementioned circular.
This initiative came within the national pursuit of facilitating the business environments and promoting economic sustainability, and based on the circular issued by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion on the transfer of the commercial signboard issuance from the municipalities sector to be provided through the e-portal of (Invest Easy) starting from April 4, 2023, and in reference to the statement of the Council of Ministers issued on November 17, 2022 on the results of the second phase of the fees reviewing project for public services, and in implementation of government directives to apply the outputs of the government service pricing guide starting from April 1, 2023.
Muscat Municipality has also emphasized that the licences for the side commercial signboards, commercial name signboard on building rooftop, and for advertising signs are still issued by Muscat Municipality, through the e-services portal on the municipality`s website. On this domain, the service fee for issuing a licence for the side commercial signboard and for a licence for a commercial name signboard on building rooftops have been reduced to (15) Omani rials for each service, paid once and without annual renewal, provided that it complies with the technical requirements in force in Muscat Municipality.
