Muscat Governorate Ranked in the Advanced Tier for Digital Transformation
Following the successful streamlining and digitization of 24 services for beneficiaries, the Government Digital Transformation Program, "Tahawul," has ranked Muscat Governorate in the Advanced Tier for digital transformation. The announcement was made in the program’s annual report released recently. Muscat was ranked alongside three other government service entities out of a total of 49 organizations evaluated for their digital transformation performance in the past year.

This project is the first of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman. Muscat Nights Festival 2024: A Celebration of Fun and Diversity for the Whole Family
Muscat, ** November 2024: The capital city, Muscat, is preparing for its grand festival, "Muscat Nights 2024" The festival will open its doors to visitors on Monday, December 23, 2024, and continue until January 21, 2025. Muscat Municipality has announced that this year’s festival will feature various events and activities to entertain all family members. This year’s Muscat Nights Festival includes numerous entertainment and tourism events spread across various locations, including Al Qurum Natural Park, Al Amerat Public Park, Al Naseem Public Park, the Oman Automobile Association, the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, Al Hail Beach, Wadi Al Khoud, as well as several cultural centres and shopping malls. These locations have been chosen to ensure accessibility for residents and visitors across different areas of the capital. Over 700 small and medium businesses, along with enterprising families, are participating in the festival to present their products and services to attendees. This provides an opportunity for these companies to showcase their offerings to the nearly one million anticipated visitors. On the organisational front, Muscat Municipality has enlisted more than 500 people at various festival venues to help manage the largest event of its kind in the capital.

Muscat Municipality Announces Conclusion of Oman Urban Hackathon
Muscat, 04 September 2024: Muscat Municipality recently celebrated the conclusion of the Oman Urban Hackathon competition under the patronage of Her Highness Sayyida Meyyan bint Shihab Al Said and in the presence of His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Hamidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality. Muscat Municipality organised the competition in collaboration with Oman Think Urban. It was hosted at the Youth Centre from Sunday, 01 September to Tuesday, 03 September. The event saw a broad response, with the participation of ten teams consisting of 33 young students and professionals in the fields of architecture and urban planning, who competed to develop innovative ideas aimed at revitalising the target sites with a focus on humanising the space and providing implementable designs. The participating teams were divided into two categories, with five teams each competing to design the City Amphitheatre site at Qurum Park and Al-Manuma Souq. Participants presented their ideas and designs to a judging panel of experts in the field, which included Professor Mahmoud Al-Wahaibi, founder of Oman Think Urban, Ms. Majda Al-Hinai, architect and visual artist, Dr Samia Al-Mabsali, lecturer in the engineering department at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Muscat, and Engineer Maryam Al-Balushi, architect and urban planner.
