Muscat Municipality is preparing the environment for the 2018 Cricket Tournament with 32 of participating teams

Muscat Municipality, represented by the Directorate General of Human Resources and the sport Committee, held this morning (Monday) a press conference at the Grand Hall of Al Falaj Hotel talking about the Muscat Municipality Cricket Tournament organised by the Municipality for the second time. The Championship will be held from (2-30 of November) on Friday of each week at al Qurm Natural Park. The tournament will be held in collaboration with the Oman Cricket Club in addition to a number of corporate sponsors.
A total number of (32) teams will participate in the tournament, (11) of which are from Muscat Municipality, and (5) Omani civil teams, and(16) teams from the private sector. The conference has emphasised the importance of this tournament and its role in promoting sport skills of the participating teams.
Assistant Director General of the Directorate General of human resources Mr. Adil Arafah said that Muscat Municipality seeks through this tournament to rise people`s awareness of physical activity and to upgrade the level of diffenernt sport activities among people.
Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Mahrouqi who is the chairman of the sport committee at Muscat Municipality said that this tournament tries to invest the success made in the previous tournament and to continue finding an effective sponsorship that serves as an umbrell for such tournament.
Muscat Municipality is preparing all requirements for the tournament and will take the draw later and it expresses gratitude to Khimji Ramdas Corporate for its sponsorship & support to the tournament for the second consecutive year.
