Following the royal directives of His Majesty and his blessing to launch the Government Services Pricing Guide, and to complement the efforts exerted to review the fees of all services provided to the community, Muscat Municipality announced today (Tuesday) the results of the intiative and re-engineers its services fees related to the launch of the "Taseera" project, which is concerned with determining the appropriate prices for government services in accordance with the general framework of the Service Price Guide; with the aim of achieving a financial balance between the fiscal policy and the orientations of the Oman Vision 2040.

The Municipality announced the details of the amended fees included in the second phase of the implementation, which included the cancellation of (24) fees, and the integration and reduction of (31) service fees, which will be effective during the first quarter of next year 2023. The amendments to the fees included the cancellation of the fee to obtain a permit for installing sunshade in front of the houses for each car (residential) to be free, with a refundable deposit insurance for a reduced amount of (50) OMR, and the service of issuing the workers `health card (workers` statement) has been canceled so that the service will be organized by the competent authority. Municipality has also combined and reduced (8) municipal fees related to the revision of exceptional construction plans will be integrated and reduced to a unified fee of ( 500) baisa per square meter.

Furthermore, to facilitate an integrated and sustainable urban structure, the fees included the integration and reduction of (8) other fees for the services of issuing the commencment of construction to be a single permit with a fixed fee of (10) OMR for residential and(100) for commercial, and (5) fees will be integrated and reduced in the field of services accompanying the completion of construction works to be with one fixed fee of (10) for residential and(50) for commercial.

With regard to the registration of companies with the Muscat Municipality according to the different grades, (4) fees have been merged and reduced to one fixed fee of (10) Omani rials, in order to improve the business environment and achieve economic growth.

In order to facilitate the conduct of commercial activities, (4) fees related to licenses for the issuance of commercial signages have been merged and reduced, while the service has been transferred to be offered on Invest Easy platform, to become a single fee of (15) Omani rials, with the cancellation of the annual renewal of the commercial signage, through which it is hoped to reduce the administrative burden on the recipients of this type of services, accelerate the completion of services while improving the competitiveness of the Sultanate of Oman in the business environment and thus automate services related to attracting and enhancing investment.
